Today has been full
of different activities. Just like yesterday, we started with some colouring
before reading our books to our teachers.
Joe Wicks came next, with the children lasting far longer
than the adults! We enjoyed lots of time
outside today and spent time looking at the effect of sunlight, using farm
animals to create pictures with their shadows. This then turned into some free
play where we used chalk to draw shadow puppets on the wall, as well as playing
some ball games.
After lunch, we made our way up to the field to engage with
Opal Play. The children enjoyed finding more and more creative places to hide a
ball while others looked for it. Afterwards, we all enjoyed playing Hide and
Seek, while some children attempted (and succeeded) scoring a goal past Mr
Clement.
When we came back inside, we had a challenge! Each child
constructed their own tower using spaghetti and marshmallows. The challenge was
to build the highest tower possible. The competition was very fierce and the
architecture was strong.
We finished the day by going outside again and creating our
own game with hoops and balls.
Looking forward to another fun-filled day at Calton
tomorrow!
